Fascias & Soffits

The Swish range of fascias & soffits includes standard profiles, decorative boards, colours and many additional decorative items to enhance the look of your home.

Designs

Designs

The fascia board is the most visible part of a standard roofline and there are three designs of board to choose from; Square, Ogee and Bullnose.

Firstly you must decide if you are having the existing boards overcapped or completely replaced. We recommend complete replacement with Swish Jumbo boards unless you are certain that the underlying timbers are in good condition.

The Jumbo range of replacement fascia boards is strong enough to carry the guttering system and to bear the weight of the lower row of tiles which will rest on it.

If Jumbo boards are correctly fitted to the rafters then the installation will not move under any circumstances.

Colours

Colours

Roofline colours are often chosen to complement the colours of windows or doors.

We have produced our range of square profiles in four of the most popular colours, Mahogany, Light Oak Rosewood and Black.

The colour is achieved by covering a standard white profile in a tough foil that is guaranteed to retain its colour for at least 10 years.

In order to provide a professional finish the necessary corners joints and trims have been produced in the same coloured foil.

A common and more traditional variation in the colour scheme is to fit a white soffit with coloured fascias and bargeboards.

The colour and style of the guttering system will also affect the look of the finished roofline. Notice that the Mahogany and Light Oak installations shown here have brown guttering.

Decorative Boards

Decorative Boards

There are two decorative fascia and bargeboard systems in the Swish range.

Decorative Roofline

These are concave and convex designs cut from 5m boards. They replace standard boards and can have guttering attached directly to them. Please note that it may not be possible to fit these boards where the existing fascia is more than 150mm deep.

Roofstyle

A system of moulded 450mm components (convex , concave and straight) that fit to the face of an existing board.

Ventilation

Ventilation

Building regulations require the roof void to be ventilated in order to prevent a build up of condensation which might result in damage from rot.

Ventilation can be provided through the soffit board or over the top of the fascia. Swish supplies a range of components to achieve either option.

Over Fascia Ventilation

The ventilator unit (Jumbovent or Over Fascia Ventilator)sits on top of the fascia board and is hidden by the guttering system. This means that the soffit is left plain without ventilation slots in it which is a look preferred by some homeowners. It may not be possible to fit these units if the fascia is to be over capped.

Through Soffit Ventilation

This is the traditional method of providing ventilation. Installers usually use slotted (Swish Polo) boards. However, where the original soffit is being retained and overcapped, circular ventilators will have to be fitted to provide a clear air path through both boards.

Finishing touches

A traditional combination of finial and cross bar with a chamfered detail on each edge.

Dentil Moulds

Low maintenance units to create an ornate feel and preserve the look of properties with a more traditional style.
