Swish Building Products is probably the best-known UK manufacturer of roofline and cladding products. Many people still recognise the Swish name from the days when it was closely associated with curtain tracks and poles, but that was a long time ago, and today there is no connection between the two businesses.
Swish is now part of the Epwin Group of businesses that supplies fascias, cladding, windows doors, decking and many other low maintenance building products to the new build, social housing and domestic refurbishment markets.
Some of the other brands within the Epwin Group include Ecodek, DekBoard, Kayflow, Marbrex, Stormking and many more.
Between 2008 and 2022, Swish managed to reduce the CO2 generated by its production and warehouse by 67.62% per production tonne when delivered to its customers, or 72.13% better when warehousing & distribution is removed. During the same time period, we have also reduced our water consumption by a huge total of 75%, or a saving of 8,246m3, which is the equivalent of 3.3 Olympic swimming pools! We know this because we measure everything we do and then have the figures externally verified. We no longer send waste of any kind to landfill; all our production and office waste is recycled either by ourselves or by our specialist waste disposal partner. We often review the amount of packaging we use, and our fleet of delivery trucks is regularly replaced with the latest fuel efficient, low emissions models.
We now hold a number of certifications to show our commitment to reducing our environmental impact. ISO14001 is an Environmental Management certification that looks at our actions on electricity, diesel, gas, water consumption, as well as our ability to recycle waste. ISO50001 Energy Management Certification speaks for itself and BES6001 Responsible Sourcing Certification looks at our environmental performance, the way we treat our employees and the demands we make on our materials suppliers to match our performance.
Swish supplies a number of markets via specialist Independent Plastics Stockists. The Swish Approved Installer Scheme caters for the domestic refurbishment market. In addition Swish specialises in meeting the needs of the private and social housing specifier and contractor. Swish aims to provide sustainable products and collaborative working relationships to deliver best value.
Swish extrude cellular PVC into light, strong, weather resistant boards that will not warp, flake, crack or peel and are therefore ideal long life replacements for traditional low-grade soft timber components. A key characteristic of Swish cellular PVC is that it will not suffer from 'pinking' discolouration.
